Tragedy for this fish: Maritime Damage

The AquaDom, the biggest cylindrical freestanding aquarium in the world, broke the record in 2003 before being destroyed in Berlin, the capital of Germany, in 2022. This massive aquarium was approximately 25 meters (82 feet) high, 1 million gallons in capacity, and 11 meters (36 feet) in diameter. It was specifically at the Radisson Collection Hotel in the DomAquarée complex in Berlin-Mitte, which is located on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße. International Concept Management, Inc. began the fishtank's production and invested €12.8 million on it. Panels made of Reynolds Polymer Technology were utilized. Overall, 41 panels were employed, of which 26 were for the exterior of the aquarium and 15 were for the interior. Sergei Tchoban, a German architect, was given the great job of completing the building of this unusual design. However, after the manufacturing, Union Investment Real Estate held and managed the fishiest tank.

Other distinguishing features that set it unique from other aquariums are well known about it in addition to its size and height. The gigantic acrylic glass aquarium was effective in grabbing everyone's attention since it included a built-in elevator that let visitors access the tank through a glass lift that rose up the middle of the aquarium. People might take a two-story elevator ride to have a sea life discovery tour and view the AquaDom and the large atrium area in this location in an altogether new way.

In addition, the hotel featured 427 rooms where guests could observe a tropical underwater environment while dozing next to fish, which was fantastic news for ichthyophiles.

Along with the fish, the two scuba divers who are in charge of caring for and feeding the tank's residents are frequently visible to visitors and contribute to the appeal.

Along with two prominent species from the well-known animated comic drama Finding Nemo, "AquaDom" used to be home to 1,500 tropical fish of more than 100 species. Visitors were particularly interested in seeing Blue Tang and Clownfish.

An emergency manifested on December 16 around 5:45 am. The big aquarium exploded with a tremendous explosion. It was more like to a bomb going off or a tsunami hitting the area, sending shockwaves out to the tourist attraction. Due to injuries from glass fragments that fell on them, two persons sadly had to be brought to the hospital. Worst of all, no aquatic animal could endure. Some said that we would have had to endure severe human harm if the tragedy had occurred a few hours later since by that time, all of the hotel's guests, including youngsters, would have congregated there as part of daily routine. Immediately following the tragedy, almost 100 firemen and police officers responded, but the cause of the explosion is still a mystery. According to some, the glass tank cracked due to the extreme cold (-!0 degrees Celsius), which led to an explosion.

After the explosion that knocked out electricity to the whole hotel, a million liters of water were let loose into the lobby. The power of the water flow was so great that the entire hotel was submerged in water, and 264,000 gallons of water with more than a thousand tropical fish ultimately spilled into the street.
